The Techne Hybridiser meets all these requirements and replaces the cumbersome shaker bath and plastic bag method. At least 20 x 20cm membranes can be probed in the large hybridisation tube in DNA experiments. Hybridisations can be performed in a minimal volume of 5ml an 80% reduction over conventional systems reducing expense and improving signal. The operator is protected from irradiation throughout and the apparatus is extremely simple to use. The capacity to run up to five membranes in each large hybridisation tube without any increase in backgund means that a large number of high quality hybridisations can be performed simultaneously. The unit accepts up to six large or small hybridisation tubes or 24 mini tubes.

The incubator has digital set and display of temperature and is microprocessor controlled. A glass door allows viewing of the samples and the incubator is provided with levelling feet. Separation membranes are also available .
